Performance of Koala Mattress

While firmness and feel are the most significant considerations, a mattress’ edge support, durability, breathability, and other characteristics should also be considered.

Let’s have a look at how the Koala mattress performs in these areas.

Temperature for sleeping

The Koala mattress, in my perspective, is temperature-neutral, meaning it does not sleep hot or cold. Unlike traditional memory foam mattresses, open-cell foam increases airflow and wicks away heat. Although I did not wake up hot or sweaty, heat sleepers may wish to consider a hybrid or pure innerspring mattress, which sleeps cooler than all-foam mattresses.

Couples’ motion isolation

The ability of a mattress to absorb cross-bed motion is referred to as motion isolation. If you sleep on a motion-isolating mattress, you won’t notice when your companion gets out of bed to satisfy a chocolate desire or answer nature’s call. All foam beds, in general, excel at motion isolation, and the Koala mattress is no exception. It absorbs and reduces motion transmission more effectively than an innerspring, latex, or hybrid mattress. On the medium side, motion isolation is slightly better than on the firmer side.

Edge assistance

There are numerous advantages to robust edge support. For one thing, you can sleep closer to the edge without worrying about going off. Two, it maintains the mattress’s contour. Three, it keeps the edges from drooping. When compared to all-foam mattresses, the Koala mattress provides above-average edge support, but falls short when compared to innerspring and latex mattresses.

The mattress’ firmer side gives more edge support than the softer side. Both sides, however, provide enough support for those of light to average weight.

Sex comfort

For sex, couples require a mattress that is responsive and bouncy. Although the Koala mattress is responsive, it lacks the bounce of latex or innerspring beds. However, the harder side may provide a little more bounce.

You won’t hear the creaking or squeaking sounds that are frequent in innerspring beds because it’s an all-foam bed.

Overall, the Koala mattress isn’t the best sex mattress on the market, but it’s still a good choice.

Durability

The Koala mattress was first introduced in Australia in 2015, and it was redesigned in 2018 before being upgraded in 2021. It’s reasonable to assume that the Koala mattress is a long-lasting product, with over eight years of operation and real-world consumer feedback.

While the firm does not provide official lifespan information, user feedback and our research suggest that with careful maintenance, the mattress should last at least seven to eight years.
